Alliance staff
Ryan Hutchison, Executive Director
Ryan joined the Hispanic Alliance for the Performing Arts in December of 2012. Prior to his appointment, Ryan worked as Director of Development for Southwest Key Programs and East Austin College Prep. He has worked in the non-profit sector for the past three years, including working in a development capacity for Austin Can Academy, a dropout recovery charter school. Ryan came to the non-profit sector after spending a decade working in state politics, including working as a political consultant for a Texas House of Representatives Candidate, as Legislative Aide for State Senator Joan Huffman, and for various state advocacy groups including the Texas Civil Justice League and the Texas Medical Association.
Ryan looks forward to helping the Hispanic Alliance for the Performing Arts achieve its long-term objectives and partnering with Austin’s art organizations to help keep the performing arts alive in Austin for generations to come while helping students get ahead today using music as a catalyst. He is a passionate advocate for education and believes providing disadvantaged youth with tremendous opportunities is the key to changing the status quo in communities on the fringe of our society. Ryan is confident the work the Hispanic Alliance for the Performing Arts is doing will change the game for the cultural arts and arts education in Austin today and well into the future.
